Apps provide a way of extending the basic functionality of Microsoft Teams. As a Manager during the lockdown I’ve found myself needing to touch base with my team both formal and informal ways. The Who App / Who Bot really makes the informal chat’s easy.
The Who App is include as part of Teams, but needs to be added before the functionality is available. Who uses information from Azure Active Directory (names, job titles, manager, contact information) and information from Teams and other Office Applications. For example, if I search for someone with expertise in a topic, it looks for people that have posted with the key word you are using.
Who also provides easy access to an Org Chart and attendees for upcoming meetings, showing presence if you need to have a quick chat ahead of time.
This video demos the basic functionality and some example use cases.
But wait there’s more!
Teams has a rich collection of Microsoft and third-party Apps that can be added including tools like Freshdesk, PowerBI, Trello, MindMeister, Confluence, Github, Abobe Signatures, Dynamics CRM and much much more.
